Once the cleaning and inspection are complete, we place the engine block on the haas in order to execute the overhaul program. If the next oversize is not available, we proceed to bore and install new cylinder sleeves. Additionally, based on the condition of the valve seat, we may also consider revitalizing them.
The valve seats are installed using a brass tool and a hammer to prevent any harm to the block. The task at hand only requires elbow grease and a healthy dose of anger managementWe use a hydraulic press to install the cylinder sleeves, bearing in mind that there is a preload at both the sleeve edge and the sleeve itself.Once the valve seats and cylinder sleeves are successfully installed, we proceed to realign the block on the haas and execute the second program. This involves machining the valve seats, cylinders, and leaving 0.07 mm of clearance in the cylinder walls. This clearance allows for the final 0.07 mm of honing to be performed using the Sunny Hone machine.
