FlyB4 Oil pan Prototype

Moteren Revisie Meijerink B.V. aimed to create a distinctive carterpan for the Model A Ford that would be compatible with Terry Burtz Engines. The engineering and casting work for this project was completed by T. Gerritzen, whose website is https://www.gerritzentechnology.nl/. Although this is a prototype project, we are continuously working to improve the design of the oil pan. Unfortunately, due to the 3D printing process, we overlooked some compatibility issues with the CNC machine.
Despite the challenges, we were able to modify the model and create customized tools that allowed us to access difficult-to-reach areas.

We designed the long tools specifically to reach the bottom of the pan, since the bolts would not fit otherwise without creating a camber for them to rest in. To ensure the wall thickness would not be too thin and lead to future failure, we also fabricated custom bolts. The last picture illustrates this.
